Manufacturers are lining up to exhibit their wares at the Manufacturing Excellence Exhibition on 15th-17th June 2004.

Manufacturing Excellence has announced details of several of the manufacturers who will be presenting their equipment at the Manufacturing Excellence Exhibition on 15th-17th June 2004.

BASF IT Services is Europe's largest IT solutions company specialising in the process industry, and is a prime sponsor of the ME event.

As well as exhibiting equipment BASF will present several papers at the conference, explaining how what they offer is regarded as something quite exceptional.

It is a solution created from within the process industry, specifically for the process industry and is available exclusively to the process industry.

Broadley Technologies will exhibit at ME and demonstrate equipment from its catalogue, a source for instruments, sensors, tools, accessories and maintenance supplies for use in microbial fermentation and cell culture bioprocess applications.

Special emphasis is given to the areas of measurement and control of the environmental conditions inside fermentation vessels and bioreactors.

Key products and supplies are stocked for next day delivery to provide timely backup to round-the-clock production activities.

Emerson Process Management as a sponsor of ME will be exhibiting a wide range of their systems, products and services, and will be presenting papers describing the benefits these have achieved in practical applications.

Gecma International will be exhibiting the market leading Challenger intrinsically safe PC terminals.

These modular high performance units are used across all industries including pharmaceutical, chemical, oil and gas and refineries where local operation of a DCS or other software is required in the plant.

Hima-Sella is one of the UK's leading suppliers of safety and control systems to the oil, gas, chemical and petrochemical industries.

On display during Manufacturing Excellence will be several examples of the latest technology for emergency shutdown and fire and gas detection systems, including the new Hima HiMatrix small PLC systems.

The IEE with some 130,000 members is Europe's largest grouping of professional engineers, and as a sponsor of the ME event will be discussing the role of the IEE in the process industry.

The IEE is a worldwide organisation with 30,000 of those members based outside the UK.

They range from students to leading figures in industry, research and development, consultancy and education working in power engineering, communications, electronics, computing, software, control, informatics and manufacturing.

Chartered engineers are at the forefront of high-technology industry and play a major role in the economic welfare of their countries as well as in the quality of life.

The IEE has a network of local branches including special Younger Members' sections, operating throughout the UK as well as ranging from China and Hong Kong to Australasia, Southern Africa, Europe and North America.

OSI Software has been focused on only one product, the PI system - since 1980.

This will be on display at ME.

Over 5000 PI systems are installed in all industries worldwide.

The Emerson DeltaV digital automation system uses the PI System in each DeltaV Workstation.

University of Newcastle (PACT) provides short courses and postgraduate degrees in process automation.

Some of the PACT lecturers will be presenting papers at ME.

The PACT courses are mainly part-time, modular, with 16 modules on an 18-month cycle.

Each module consists of one week's full-time tuition at the university followed by a period of home study, during which an assignment is completed, and finally a two hour examination.

PACT is a unique Partnership in Control and Automation Training between the university and 12 companies who between them represent a wide cross-section of process industry.

PACT is approved for continuing professional development by the IChemE and InstMC and recommended by the ISA England Section.
