Novec solvents can be used in a wide variety of applications as trike and nPB substitutes in ultrasonic and vapour degreasing systems.

The SED (Solvent Emissions Directive) requires CMRs (carcinogens, mutagens and reproductive toxins) to be substituted in the shortest possible time, as described in paragraphs 37-42 of EU Directive 1999/13/EC.

Products carrying the Risk phrases R-40, R-45, R-46, R-49, R-60, R-61 fall under the CMR definition and this includes both trike and nPB.

The 3M Novec range of solvents do not carry any of these risk phrases and are therefore used in a wide variety of applications as trike and nPB substitutes in ultrasonic and vapour degreasing systems.

Electronics, aerospace, automotive, military and medical device production have all successfully implemented Novec, often showing significant cost savings, improved cleaning performance and achieving full compliance with the SED.

The 3M Novec range are nonflammable, non-ozone-depleting, have high operator exposure limits and offer exceptional cleaning efficiency and materials compatibility.
