Misumi Europa has developed a linear guide wizard to help customers find the most appropriate product among its range of linear guides.
The wizard can also identify a suitable alternative to a product that a customer is already using.
This selection simplifies use of the main catalogue: Mechanical Standard Components for Factory Automation.
The linear guides chapter in the latest version of the main catalogue covers 135 pages and includes standard or miniature versions and extra-long or extra-wide blocks, suitable for use with plastic retainers, extreme loads, surface coated or preloaded.
To make the catalogue product search more efficient, a link is now available for all users on the Misumi homepage for access to the linear guide wizard.
The user can then enter application-specific parameters such as rail length, block height, required load or hole pattern into the input field.
Material and surface treatment can also be included.
With each entry, the system reduces the selection of suitable guide types and displays them in a table below the form.
In addition to the relevant parameters, the overview also contains the product code and a cross reference to the corresponding catalogue page.
Users can click on a link to download the catalogue page - containing all technical and commercial details - as a PDF file for reference purposes, for instance.
