The new Transarc Open Circuit Voltage Reducer (OCVR) from Murex Welding Products is designed for use with either a DC or AC welding power source when undertaking manual metal arc (MMA) welding up to 400A It ensures there is a low voltage at the electrode holder (less than 24V DC) when welding is not in progress thereby reducing the risk of electric shock when operating in more hazardous areas

To assist users in the selection of the correct arc welding equipment, Murex Welding Products has published a comprehensive new guide.
The OCVR meets all the new European standards and safety legislation.
No auxiliary power is required to operate the unit which is housed in a sealed wall mountable metal enclosure.
Other safety features include a stall protection circuit that switches off the power if electrode frozen in weld.
Voltage is reduced to 24V within 0.3 seconds of breaking the arc.
The OCVR is rated at 400A at 35% duty or 300A at 60% duty and 250A at 100% duty over a ten minute period.
It measures a compact 300x300x120mm and weighs 11.5kg. Request a free brochure from Murex Welding Products ...
