Manusoft has released the Imold V9 EDM system, which automates the electrode design process and assists the manufacture of detailed and hard-to-machine features on moulds and press tools.
'With the increasing complexity and also miniaturisation of plastic parts, mould manufacturing technologies like electro-discharge machining (EDM) and micro-EDM have become more and more important,' said C H Chiang, managing director, Manusoft Technologies.
Imold V9 is Solidworks 2009-ready, and 32- and 64-bit ready.
Other enhancements to Imold V9 include one-click splitting and hole pocket colour tagging/tolerance.
