Following successful participation at the PPMA's September Show, Marlin Stainless has enrolled as an associate member "The PPMA (Processing and Packaging Machinery Association) is our natural home ground", says Brian Bannister, UK Sales Manager

"Our stainless steel motors and gearboxes have inherent hygiene characteristics that are essential for food processing and packaging machinery, being smooth bodied and having IP66 hose-down resistance, permitting efficient cleaning".

His thoughts were underlined by the level of enquiries and appointments arranged both by OEM's and end users during the show.

What was particularly appealing to both types of potential customer, in addition to the hygienic qualities, was the fact the motors are IEC metric dimensioned - in other words directly interchangeable with standard equivalent AC motors.

Hence no redesigning of machinery to accommodate them and simple swap-overs for installed plant.

Marlin offers motors with ratings from 0.18 to 7.5kW in metric frame sizes up to 132 as TEFC machines.

Smaller units (up to 0.75kW) are also available from 63 frame size as TENV machines.

The worm gearboxes have centre distances of 31, 42 and 61mm with ratios from 5:1 to 75:1.

Torques range from 0.9 to 208Nm and options include gears with torque pins, food spec lubricants and various output shaft designs.
