Data code reader added to machine vision software

A MVTec Software product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Feb 15, 2006

Data code reader is highlight in latest release of machine vision development tool that does not require the writing of any code.

Version 3.1 of Activvision Tools software has been released by MVTec to make machine vision easier.

The highlight of the release is the Activdata Code fast and robust data code reader.

Version 3.1 is an effective development tool that does not require the writing of any code; 2D and multi-line (stacked) bar and data codes already substitute entire documents of correspondence between trade partners.

The data code reader is robust, for example against arbitrary rotation of the objects.

Even high differences of illumination inside a data code image are barely relevant.

Moreover, Activdata Code reads reliably even if codes are partly occluded.

The data code reader automatically adapts to dimension and printing technology, as well as illumination and contrast variances of the data codes.

The software is based on the operators of Halcon, the software library for machine vision that is used worldwide.

The open software architecture is scalable to fit customers' needs.

Other tools include ActivOCR, Activbarcode, Activmeasure, Activalignment and Activblob Finder.
