MWP 2009 Summit focuses on sustainability

MWP will present the 2009 Summit for business leaders, managers and entrepreneurs in the manufacturing sector.

The Summit has the title of 'Sustainable manufacturing in the 21st Century' and will be held at the Advanced Manufacturing Park Technology Centre, Sheffield, South Yorkshire, UK on Thursday 5 November 2009.

The programme includes: The Advanced Manufacturing Park - its origins, its future and what it means for UK manufacturing; Business strategies for success - as implemented by AESSEAL; How to become a critical link in the aerospace supply chain - advice from the Gardner Aerospace group; Turning adversity to your advantage - perspectives from Hone-All; Metals and Composites, the modern mix for aerostructures - a senior Boeing materials technology guru examines the implications for suppliers to the sector; 'Low carbon design' is a powerful tool in reducing waste, environmental damage, energy use and costs - advice from a leading environmental consultancy; What's happening at the AMP - some of the Park's most innovative companies explain how they are exploiting new markets and new technologies - with the emphasis on energy efficiency.

The day concludes with an opportunity to get on board AMRC's EPSRC-funded MANTRA touring manufacturing technology demonstration unit featuring VR suite - and to experience Bromley Performance Sports' Olympic 'Skeleton' class bobsleigh simulator.
