Sealed LVDTs operate in hostile environments
The HSAR/HSDR 750 series of hermetically sealed LVDTs is designed for operation in hostile environments containing caustic or corrosive materials.
The HSAR/HSDR 750 series of hermetically sealed LVDTs is designed for operation in hostile environments containing caustic or corrosive materials.
Constructed of stainless steel for environmental robustness, these 19mm AC- and DC-operated position sensors are built for position measurement in automotive factories, forges and foundries, metal fabricating machinery, paper and plastic film plants, sawmills, process automation applications and all types of motion control systems.
Typical uses of these LVDTs include valve position sensing, hydraulic cylinder positioning, machine tool positioning and materials testing extensometers.
The HSAR/HSDR 750 series are rated for operation in temperatures up to, and in excess of 100C.
Units are environmentally sealed to IEC IP69.
The LVDTs use a radial-mounted electrical connector that permits through-bore operation with several significant advantages: they accessible from both ends for better mechanical support and core guidance than blind-bore hermetically sealed units; they can be easily cleaned of grit, dirt, dust or other contaminants for greater reliability and longer life; and the radial connector makes the installed length of both the AC- and DC-LVDTs at least 2in shorter than comparable units with an axially mounted connector for easier installation in tight spaces.
Offering long life even in harsh conditions, the HSAR/HSDR 750 feature high resolution, excellent repeatability typically better then 0.01% of full scale and nonlinearity less than 0.25% of full range output.
Units are available in standard full-scale measurement ranges of +/-1.25 to +/-250mm.
The HSDR 750 Series use built-in electronics to provide the desirable features of an AC-LVDT, such as frictionless operation and dynamic response, with the added convenience and simplicity of DC input and precalibrated DC output.
Both the AC- (HSAR-750) and DC-operated (HSDR-750) versions are designed to operate in conjunction with PLCs, digital indicators, A/D convertors, computer-based data processors and QC data collection systems.
Macro Sensors offers several standard options for the HSAR/HSDR 750 Series including Teflon bore liners, metric threaded cores as well as small diameter and low mass cores.
Units can also be constructed for mild resistance to nuclear radiation as well as immersion in pressurised fluids.
Pricing for the HSAR-750 (AC-operated) series begin at $305, whereas the HSDR 750 (DC-operated) pricing starts at $456 per unit.
Quantity discounts available.
