Macro Sensors offer LDVT tutorial

A Macro Sensors product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Sep 3, 2009

Macro Sensors is offering an in-depth tutorial on Linear Variable Differential Transformers or LVDT linear position sensors on its website.

The tutorial covers construction, significant features, operation and industrial applications and answers questions on where to use an LVDT and what types of electronics work best for specific applications.

LVDTs can measure movements as small as a few millionths of an inch up to several inches as well as positions up to +/-20in (+/-0.5m).

Friction-free operation, infinite resolution and unlimited mechanical life make LVDTs suitable in a variety of applications such as industrial automation manufacturing, power-generation, civil-engineering and industrial and subsea environments.

Macro Sensors offers a range of LVDTs including AC- and DC-operated versions, linear and rotary sensors, free-core and spring-loaded technology, hermetically-sealed and high-temperature resistance units, as well as custom products.
