JCB Dieselmax and Andy Green are MIA's
star turns
British motorsport fans will get their first chance to view the record breaking JCB Dieselmax at Autosport International, NEC, January 11 to 14, 2007, where it will be the centrepiece of the MIA stand
Andy Green, the man who piloted the record breaker to the new 350.092mph milestone for diesel cars will be there on Thursday and Friday (11 and 12 January), as will some of the brilliant engineers who made the success possible Said the MIA's Chris Aylett, "The JCB Dieselmax is the embodiment of Britain's global lead in R and D, innovation, high performance engineering and energy efficient motorsport"

Government needs to support vocational training
The Government needs to be more supportive of firms willing to participate in vocational qualifications and training schemes, a West Midlands' engineering company has warned

"This huge event regularly attracts over 100,000 industry leaders from the automotive, truck and SUV, marine and RV markets from 100 countries".
"It is quite simply the very best gateway to the American retail performance market".
"We will definitely be creating a subsidised package to help our industry and members take part next year".
Some 25 key members of the industry and sport have met at MIA headquarters to discuss how the event should evolve.
It was clear that this promotional concept has already attracted a huge amount of goodwill and commitment ongoing.
As an example, Mattel Toys (the makers of Whizz Wheels) are keen to play a key role, Haymarket have agreed to help publicise the activities across their motorsport publications and the MSA will once again be encouraging their affiliated clubs to participate in any way they can.
Said Chris Aylett, "By harnessing the vast resources of motorsport throughout the UK, we can introduce thousands of people to the sport we love and bring much needed new work to the industry as a result".
"This is the beauty of National Motorsport Week - it is a win situation for all concerned".
MIA membership has been growing steadily through the year, but the percentage increase doubled last month.
Said the MIA's Simon Webb, "There are a variety of reasons".
"We have been actively recruiting new members recently, but not all the newcomers have come as result of that".
"We hope the trend continues and would counsel anybody thinking of joining to come and visit our stand at Autosport International and find out first hand what we can do for their company".
