The Roba-stop-silenzio electromagnetic failsafe brake meets the EN81-1 specific requirements where a rising cabin must be braked in the event of an overspeed occurring.

Mayr Antriebstechnik has developed the Roba-stop-silenzio electromagnetic failsafe brake to meet the EN81-1 specific requirements where a rising cabin must be braked in the event of an overspeed occurring Rail and rope clamping devices only become active when an overspeed of 115% of the nominal speed is reached, which under certain conditions could result in passenger injury

The Roba-stop-silenzio holds the actual drive which is not the case with rail or rope clamping devices and should a drive component fail, the additional brake will hold the cabin safely in its position.

The Roba-stop-silenzio has been specifically developed for retrofit to hoist applications and is a single circuit, spring applied, DC current opened unit with noise damping, which even after many millions of switchings remains below 60dB(a).

All Roba-stop safety brakes operate as failsafe brakes which ensures that in the current supply free condition the brake remains closed.

The compact unit ensures easy fitting and assembly, with the preset air gap requiring no further adjustment thus reducing any assembly or service problems.

The Roba-stop-silenzio is generally maintenance free with a long working life, only the low wear friction discs requiring inspection.
