Mayr Antriebstechnik has introduced a series of friction-type torque limiters.

Based on the years of experience gained in the design, production and application of ROBA-Slip hubs, this new series has been designed with end-users and power transmission distributors in mind.

Using the same basic components - springs, friction discs, pressure flange and torque adjusting ring - as the ROBA-Slip hub series, the ROBA-clamp uses a new hub which dispenses the obligatory hub-shaft keyway for torque transmission.

A split clamping hub with radial locking screw, tried and tested on the Mayr ROBA-ES and Smartflex backlash-free shaft coupling range is used.

The single radial locking screw ensures quick and easy assembly together with safe keyless torque transmission.

With the continual demise of the small engineering companies that were able to bore and keyway power transmission products, the bore only ROBA-clamp torque limiter will give the power transmission distributor and user added flexibility with reduced stock holding.

Features include four stock sizes, 2-400Nm torque capacity; hub bores to 40mm diameter; large frictional area with low wear rate, ensuring long working life; low rate cup springs - minimal torque reduction due to wear; self-contained tamper proof torque adjustment nut assembly; and simple construction.
