Torque sensor has torsionally rigid couplings

A Mayr Transmissions product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Dec 14, 2006

Mayr Antriebstrechnik has developed in co-operation with a respected manufacturer of torque sensing equipment, a new compact, contact less, torque sensor for both static and dynamic torques

Currently available in four standard sizes covering the nominal torque range 50 to 1000Nm , the new Mayr DR -2554 Torque Sensor offers the user a series of torque sensing modules suitable for applications where space is at a premium .

The two piece torque sensor consists of stator and rotor, which being contact less are wear free and suitable for speeds up to 13,600 rpm .

The integrated stator electronics transmit data collected via the strain gauges within the rotor.

Torque is transmitted from the driving medium to the driven product via the rotor integral Mayr Roba -DS Torsionally Rigid Couplings .

The Mayr DR - 2554 Torque Sensor offers a short overall length together with a contactless digital signal of 0.15 percent and 0.05 percent accuracy.

A variety of standard Roba -DS Torsionally Rigid Couplings are available for use with the Torque Sensor dependent on actual application requirements .
