One DIN rail instrument does it all

A Measurement and Control Technology product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Jul 12, 2006

A signal convertor, signal isolator, trip amplifier, dual channel mathematical signal processing unit with logical operations and serial to Modbus convertor are all rolled into one device.

If the application is basic process signal conversion, or a more sophisticated requirement including mathematical processing of input signals, this can now be solved by a single product at an economical price.

The 6821 is a signal convertor, signal isolator, trip amplifier, dual channel mathematical signal processing unit with logical operations and serial to Modbus convertor all rolled into one device.

This innovative DIN rail instrument is programmed by either front panel keypad or via Mekuwin, free issue software.

It has a four digit LED display, 15V DC transmitter power supply and can be powered from either 24V AC/DC or 90-240V AC auxiliary supply.

Inputs include thermocouple, RTD, bipolar millivolts, resistance and milliamps.

Outputs include 0(1)-5, 0-10V DC, 0(4)-20mA, two 2A relays which can be assigned by four configurable alarms and Modbus RTU.

Standard basic mathematical functions such as averaging high/low select can be selected from the configuration menu.

More demanding applications such flow pressure compensation or time based programs, can be accomplished using Mekuwin programme software.
