Morris helps keep pace with expansion

A NAFEMS product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team May 6, 2003

NAFEMS has appointed Tim Morris to the role of Chief Operating Officer.

Companies are increasingly coming to depend on computer simulation ("virtual prototyping") to reduce development costs and get products to market faster.

The role of NAFEMS in assisting these organisations to apply these techniques in an appropriate manner is expanding rapidly.

In order to keep pace with this expansion, NAFEMS has appointed Tim Morris to the role of Chief Operating Officer.

"Tim will play a leading role in driving the development of the organisation as it strives to reach its strategic objectives of greater internationalisation and wider technology support through revised products and membership opportunities", said Dr Paul Newton, Managing Director of NAFEMS.

Morris brings extensive experience of many different aspects of the implementation of engineering analysis techniques.

Over the past 15 years, he has been involved in a variety of roles involving sales and marketing, technical support, training, consulting work and general management.

Most recently he was Associate Director of Wilde FEA, a firm of consulting engineers specialising in finite element analysis which he joined in 1991.

Morris will report to Paul Newton who will continue in the role of Managing Director on a part-time basis.

"I am very pleased to welcome Tim into the NAFEMS organisation", said Nick Otter, Chairman of NAFEMS, "the combination of Tim and Paul will provide NAFEMS with a very powerful management team".
