Seminar compares simulation with real life

"FEA versus test" is the title of a seminar to be held at the Empower Conference Centre at Ratcliffe-on-Soar, Nottingham, on 3rd November 2004.
This seminar is an industry led event in partnership with NAFEMS.
It will provide delegates with a thorough overview of how modern simulation methods compare against real-life testing, from a range of industrial case studies.
The case studies will cover industrial sectors such as: power generation, aerospace and process plant.
The scope of the real-life testing will cover activities such as strain gauging, component inspection and in-service measurement.
The presentations will describe both the computational aspects and the issue of results interpretation that confront today's engineer.
This seminar brings together industrial practitioners, software vendors, end users and hardware suppliers to discuss these issues.
This seminar will include; case studies from industry, which illustrate how the latest techniques are applied, with emphasis being placed on the engineering solution; a software exhibition and demonstrations by Abaqus, MSC Software, Lusas and Adina; a panel discussion with OEMs, consultants, end users and software vendors; and an exhibition of hardware that supports the presentations.
The event is sponsored by Abaqus, Adina, IMechE, MSC Software, Rolls Royce SC03 and Vishay.
