Profilometers measure surface geometry
The 3D NJ-Portable is capable of measuring 25 x 25mm areas on cumbersome objects.
NanoJura has released the NJ-Optimal and the NJ-Portable profilometers Both systems are designed for the high precision measurement of micro- and nano-surface geometry and 2D/3D surface texture
The NJ-Portable is the first portable instrument from NanoJura.
Stability and accuracy are assured by a centred mechanical design and dual proprietary systems for correcting stage straightness.
Light and compact, placed over the surface under study, the 3D NJ-Portable is capable of measuring 25 x 25mm areas on cumbersome objects.
The surface is visualised using an integrated micro-camera and high precision measurements are carried out by a chromatic confocal optical gauge with a vertical range of 480um and vertical resolution down to 2nm.
Optimised for performance and affordability, the NJ-Optimal complements nanoJura's existing range of 2D/3D high precision profilometers.
It has a measurement envelope of 100 x 100 x 50 mm, with motorised X and Y axes and a manual Z axis.
Both mono and dual gauge configurations are available with a wide range of inductive contact gauges and chromatic confocal and triangulation laser noncontact gauges.
Dual gauge configurations provide significant flexibility.
For example, a dual gauge system can be fitted with a inductive contact gauge and a chromatic confocal noncontact gauge, both with vertical resolution down to 2nm.
Chromatic confocal gauges carry out high-resolution measurements of sensitive, flexible and soft materials that could be damaged by a contact gauge with a diamond stylus.
They can also measure sharp surfaces that could damage a contact stylus.
The NJ-Optimal and the NJ-Portable integrate proven Nobis chromatic confocal gauge technology, Volcanyon data acquisition and control technology and Mountains surface analysis technology from Digital Surf.
The integrated industry-standard MountainsMap surface analysis software is compliant with existing and forthcoming international and national standards, including the ISO25178 standard on 3D surface texture and the ISO16610 standard on filtering techniques.
"The NJ-Optimal and the NJ-Portable are built to the most stringent specifications and provide high performance combined with affordability", stated Anne Calvez, Managing Director of NanoJura.
"The NJ-Optimal is an extremely flexible system with a wide range of applications in numerous sectors including the abrasives, aerospace, automotive, electronics, energy, medical, metallurgy, paper and plastics sectors".
"The NJ-Portable represents NanoJura's entry into the portable profilometer market with an instrument that offers unequalled accuracy, repeatability and stability in its class".
"Users of our instruments are masters of the whole surface metrology process from high-precision contact and noncontact measurement, through powerful surface visualisation and state of the art analysis in accordance with international and national standards, to the generation of comprehensive metrology and quality reports".
