As part of securing a major new contract, Betafence needed to demonstrate that its PVC-coated woven wire mesh was nonflammable.
"We are really proud of the achievement", said Jo Byrne, NAMTEC's Administration Manager.
"As an organisation committed to helping UK metals companies increase their competitiveness, it is essential for us to be able to show that we ourselves work as an effective team".
"When we initially established ourselves it was one of our objectives to achieve the Investors in People (IIP) award and we have managed to achieve it in just 18 months".
The IIP standard sets a level of good practice for the training and development of people to achieve business goals.
It provides a national framework for improving business performance and competitiveness through a planned approach.
It also aids improved productivity and customer satisfaction by helping employers become more customer focussed and more motivated through greater involvement.
"During the process we reviewed our policies and practices and looked at our induction, training and appraisal procedures", explained Byrne.
"Investors in People gave us a clear focus and set of objectives to look at the importance of communication from the top down and bottom upwards".
