NanoVia has developed a diffractive optic dicing tool called mMultiDice (MicroMultiDice) for micro polymer tubing used in micro electromechanical and medical device assemblies.

NanoVia has developed a diffractive optic dicing tool called mMultiDice (MicroMultiDice) for micro polymer tubing used in micro electromechanical and medical device assemblies.

The process uses a patented beam shaping and imaging system that allows precision slots to be produced using low power UV DPSS YAG lasers instead of costly excimer lasers.

Examples of micro polymer tubing applications include small bearing sleeves for micro medical devices and insulator sleeves for coil windings in micro solenoid actuators.

The mMultiDice system allows precision cutting of blind or through slots into medical tubing for increased tube flexibility.

It will also produce through-holes and slots for precision drug delivery, or split sleeves for insulating winding posts used to make electrical coils for solenoid or micro magnetic sensor devices.

mMultiDice is offered with specialised tooling and fixtures designed to client specifications.

NanoVia optimised the optical system for use with standard Coherent Avia products.
