Students can now work outside their university labs and classrooms with their own full-featured version of National Instruments LabView graphical development environment.
Students can now work outside their university labs and classrooms with their own full-featured version of National Instruments LabView graphical development environment, the most widely used software for test, measurement and control Offered with a more than 20% price reduction compared with previous editions, the LabView 7 Express Student Edition is the first version of the student software to deliver the same full functionality as the professional version of LabView
The software is included in a new "Learning with LabView 7 Express" textbook and CD bundle from Prentice Hall.
LabView 7 Express Student Edition offers a powerful platform for interactive simulation, signal acquisition, data analysis and data presentation, delivering the flexibility of a programming language without the complexity of traditional development tools.
The LabView 7 Express Student Edition contains all the functionality of the recent major upgrade to the LabView family of products, including more than 400 native analysis and signal processing functions, 13 new analysis Express VIs and support for all data types used in the LabView full development system.
"The ability for students to work from home, on their own time, with a full-featured version of LabView 7 Express greatly expands their learning opportunities and encourages initiative and independent study", said Dr Al Wicks, Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Virginia Tech.
"The more time they can spend working hands-on with the LabView environment, the more quickly they can begin to harness its functionality and implement functional code into their senior projects and design activities".
Students can purchase the new LabView 7 Express Student Edition in a set from Prentice Hall that includes the LabView 7 Express Student Edition CD and the recently released Learning with LabView 7 Express textbook written by Dr Robert Bishop, chairman of and professor in the Department of Aerospace Engineering and Engineering Mechanics at the University of Texas at Austin.
The Learning with LabView 7 Express textbook includes helpful hints, exercises, cautionary notes, "building blocks" sections for continuous modification of virtual instruments and examples of how engineers and scientists use LabView to solve real-world problems.
The textbook also includes a companion website with additional resources for both students and instructors.
National Instruments released the full-featured version of LabView 7 Express Student Edition as part of its continuing commitment to preparing students for careers in engineering and science.
The opportunity for students to spend more time working on their own in the LabView environment helps them to continue developing highly employable skills that will benefit their careers in research or in industry.
"We believe that the hands-on experience that students gain by using LabView is extremely valuable", said Ray Almgren, NI Vice President of Product Strategy and Academic Relations.
"With LabView 7 Express Student Edition, students can have their own copy of the same software they are using in their classrooms or laboratories.
Not only is it an educational tool that is useful to their professional careers, it is also fun and easy to use". Request a free brochure from National Instruments ...
