Visionary module brings Camera Link to PXI systems
National Instruments has developed the industry's first PXI-compatible image acquisition module for Camera Link cameras.
National Instruments has developed the industry's first PXI-compatible image acquisition module for Camera Link cameras.
With the new module, engineers and scientists can now use Camera Link cameras to perform high-speed, high-resolution machine vision and scientific imaging applications such as particle velocimetry, industrial inspection and precision motion guidance on the PXI platform.
The NI PXI-1428 image acquisition module connects to a wide range of base configuration Camera Link cameras.
The module features a 32Mbyte image buffer for high-speed image acquisition as well as advanced triggering capabilities to control camera lighting and communicate with other automation equipment.
Engineers can use the serial interface on the Camera Link connector to easily configure and control the camera with NI-IMAQ and NI Measurement and Automation Explorer software.
Camera Link is an industrial high-speed serial data and cabling standard developed by National Instruments, camera vendors and other image acquisition companies in October 2000.
Created for easy connectivity between the PC and camera, Camera Link offers simple, flexible cabling for high-speed, high-resolution digital cameras.
NI plays an active role in advancing the Camera Link standard for image acquisition.
