NI schedules annual military/aerospace conference

A National Instruments product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Apr 8, 2009

National Instruments's (NI's) annual Military/Aerospace Solutions Conference is scheduled to take place on 21 May 2009 at the Royal Air Force Museum in Hendon, London.

The event, aimed at military and aerospace engineers, will focus on the latest technologies for virtual and synthetic instrumentation, electronics testing, structural testing and control design.

Colonel Marcus Ransom (late REME), a speaker at last year's event, said: 'Virtual instrumentation - that is software-defined architectures and modular hardware - are essential technologies that will form the core of future test systems for the Ministry of Defence.' The free one-day conference and accompanying exhibition will feature technical demonstrations, presentations, case studies, 10 hours of hands-on experience and one-to-one system advice.

Industry specialists such as Wellman Defence, the Royal School of Signals and Selex, together with NI military and aerospace experts, will present information on topics including designing critical life-support systems for submarines, radio-frequency (RF) satellite simulation for Harris radios and managing system longevity and obsolescence for military and aerospace applications.

Engineers will also be able to validate their Labview skills by taking the NI-certified Labview Associate Developer exam free of charge at the conference, saving GBP109.
