A seminar on "Energy, efficiency and sustainability" held at the National Fluid Power Centre was an overwhelming success.

A seminar on "Energy, efficiency and sustainability" held at the National Fluid Power Centre on 3rd April 2007 was an overwhelming success with some 75 guests representing 51 different companies Five papers were presented by key speakers from the NFPC, Eaton, Pall Industrial Manufacturing, Shell Global Services and Danfoss, and all were extremely well received and gave the audience great food for thought on the way forward with fluid power and motion control engineering if it is to contribute to the fight against energy waste and resources and its future impact on the environment

A second seminar is planned for 24th October at the National Centre, and the NFPC is to shortly launch a series of short courses linked to this subject and aimed at those involved in system design, modifications/improvements, preparing technical specification and selecting components.

Great emphasis will be placed on a deeper understanding of energy, energy losses and maximisation aligned to correct component selection and compatibility.
