Trailer rings suit light-load applications

NBC Group has recently extended its stock of slewing rings to include an extensive stock of trailer rings.

Trailer rings look very similar to slewing rings but have a lower load capacity.

They were primarily designed to allow the rotation of trailer steering axles, but NBC has found itself increasingly designing them into lightly loaded industrial applications such as welding turntables and other materials handling devices.

They are best used where the loads are concentric and perpendicular to the axis of rotation, and the cost saving over a slewing ring makes them a highly attractive solution.

For applications involving large axial, radial and overturning loads NBC still recommend using a traditional slewing ring.
