Nord Gear is well known for its high quality gearmotors and gearboxes, but the company also manufactures a range of advanced AC inverter drives that perfectly complement its AC motor ranges.

Nord Gear is well known for its high quality gearmotors and gearboxes, but the company also manufactures a range of advanced AC inverter drives that perfectly complement its AC motor ranges Latest models are the Nordac Vector MC units that range from 250W to 2.2kW in single phase and from 0.75kW to 3.0kW in three phase versions

Based on Nord's own sensorless flux vector technology, the drives offer high torque at the slowest speeds and also maintain motor speed under varying load conditions.

A number of advanced features are included as standard in the drives, such as RS485 interface for remote communications and programming, a removable operator keypad, two separate parameters sets that are switchable without interrupting the inverter-motor connection and a class A mains filter.

There are also two programmable relay outputs, programmable DC braking, an integrated brake chopper for 4-quadrant operation and adjustable ramp smoothing for acceleration and deceleration from 0 to 99seconds.

Fieldbus options are provided via an elegant series of plug in modules that enable the interface and clearly display the bus technology employed.

Currently, Profibus, CANbus and RS232 are supported.

The drives also have a setpoint input for analogue/PID input and an analogue output that is 0 to 10V scaleable.
