An internal RS485 Modbus option is now available for Northern Design's popular MultiCube panel mounting multifunction power meter family.
An internal RS485 Modbus option is now available for Northern Design's popular MultiCube panel mounting multifunction power meter family.
This Modbus option adds multidrop serial communication to any standard MultiCube meter without increasing the depth behind the panel.
It interfaces to any industry standard Modbus system.
Use of a dedicated communications processor ensures optimum efficiency, allowing faster access to data on systems with multiple meters.
At 19200baud, it is possible to access and download the main instantaneous data tables (24 values) from up to 20 MultiCube meters every second.
The use of Modbus protocol ensures compatibility with existing systems and/or many readily available software packages.
This advanced communications option uses quarter-unit load drivers, allowing 128 meters on a single bus, up to 1200m long, with no repeaters.
Datarates of 4800, 9600 or 19200baud may be selected to suit system requirements.
Installation is simplified with diagnostic LEDs providing a simple but effective commissioning aid.
Two-part screw terminals allow solderless connection.
