Jargon buster cuts through the ATEX jungle
ABB has published an "ATEX jargon buster" that helps motor users cut through the jungle of terms and definitions that make up the new ATEX Directives.
Carli Jordan, Nederman UK marketing director explains: "Our parent company has grown rapidly over the last two years, largely by diversification into new areas through a combination of new product development and acquisition.
"Because of this it became impractical for Nederman's local sales companies to sustain high stock levels and a decision was made to move to direct supply from our factories in Scandinavia.
"Though this system works well on large projects we appreciated the need for local stocks of faster moving items, spares and consumables.

Government needs to support vocational training
The Government needs to be more supportive of firms willing to participate in vocational qualifications and training schemes, a West Midlands' engineering company has warned
"For that reason we've appointed a number of existing key re-sellers as official stockists.
"It's a strategy intended to optimise response in the market but we also hope that it will help our re-seller network to develop, both in traditional Nederman markets and those newer areas served, for instance by the newly acquired Nederman range Norclean".
Fumex sales director, Peter Sheerin, anticipates that becoming a stockist will open up new opportunities for the company.
"In the shorter term we've acquired some temporary storage facilities but we're hoping to acquire larger premises in 2004.
"Our main stockholding will be spare parts and consumables such as filter cartridges and nozzles but we'll also hold some larger items such as fan units, swing arms and vacuum units.
"The stock/sales operation will help us to keep in closer touch with existing customers and may help us to reach markets and customers that we haven't encountered before.
"We'll certainly aim to promote the new development in the market".
Fumex personnel provide a nationwide design and installation service, mainly using Nederman fume extraction technology, on various projects including vehicle maintenance projects.
As well as these services the company employs specialists to provide service repair and test operations on all of the equipment that it supplies.
Ex-stock availability of most regularly required spares will help to streamline this aspect of its activities.
"It's a very positive move for us," Mr Sheerin adds, "but it will also be good for Nederman.
"We have a successful 20-year relationship with them which this arrangement can only strengthen". Request free introductory details about products from Nederman ...
