Using training resources without broadband
SolidProfessor, a San Diego based manufacturer of multimedia training exclusively for Solidworks has released its new network software for corporations and academic institutions worldwide.
Thus whether you be a designer, manufacturer, installer, retailer, or involved in after sales activities, safety should be foremost in your mind.
The NEEDS 2006 conference recognises this with the following workshops: In the workshop entitled "EMC for Functional Safety and High-Reliability" Keith Armstrong the presenter, states "Complying with the EMC Directive is inadequate for dealing with interference where high reliability is required".
Indeed many people are unaware that the EMC Directive has little or nothing to do with SAFETY, and are assuming their obligations are met by applying an EMC Standard.
Not so.
Jimmy Tzimenakis, with nearly 20 years experience behind him as a Senior Approvals Manager with Sony Corporation, will show how to assess products for electrical safety, plus give practical advise on in-house testing, and the available certification schemes.
His workshop, quite logically, is entitled "Practical approach for meeting the Low Voltage Directive - A manufacturer's view".
Most Machinery designers and manufacturers need to trade all over Europe, if not the world.
Glen Moffat's workshop "Global safety requirements for Machinery" makes comparisons between CE Marking and the requirements around the world.
He will also review many of the differences in the way that CE marking is applied or implemented within the Enlarged EU.
In many cases safety is a long-term issue, and whilst knowing about the current safety requirements may be sufficient; a distinct commercial advantage can be gained by being aware of proposed changes to the legislation.
The workshop entitled, "The Future of the Low Voltage Directive" delivered by Philip Fairhurst does precisely this.
So at NEEDS 2006; whether you are a designer, manufacturer, retailer, installer, or in after sales service, there is something for everybody.
Co-located events and trade shows include: Automotive EMC 2006; Lifecycle Compliance in IT Products; MACH; Drives and Controls, Electrex, Airtech, and Product Development.
