Fastening and assembly event to feature rivet nuts

A Fastening and Assembly Solutions product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Sep 24, 2009

A number of suppliers will show rivet nuts at the Fastening and Assembly Solutions Exhibition, which is scheduled to take place at the National Motorcycle Museum on 29 October.

Suppliers, which will include Rivetnut Technology, Bollhoff Fastenings, Unifast, BBA, Specialty Fasteners and Components and others, will be on hand to discuss technology, delivery and pricing.

The new Bulge Control Technology (BCT) rivet nut from BBA will be available from exhibitors Roy Hopwood Fasteners and Zygology.

BCT is claimed to feature exceptional strength (exceeding the recommended torque loading of Grade 12.9 bolts) and allows reduced-length fasteners to be used, with an extended grip facility.

Rivetnut Technology Systems will be exhibiting rivet nuts in steel, stainless steel, aluminium and brass and in a range of head styles and thread sizes.

Also on show will be Kapti nut fasteners to ISO/TS16949:2002 in ISO metric thread forms with a selection of finishes and with manual, pneumatic, electric and cordless tool fitting.

Bollhoff Fastenings will show a family of threaded and non-threaded systems for the cold joining of dissimilar sheet materials.

These eliminate spot welding or riveting, thus providing fast, quiet, cold and emission-free solutions.

Unifast will showcase Kapti-nut high-strength systems for automated insertion and the Fastturn panel fixing for automotive and aerospace, as well as its custom capability.

Specialty Fasteners and Components will demonstrate its Aerocatch2 panel fastener and the SLIC pin assembly fastener, which is claimed to reduce installation time and component count.
