Nematron's family of Industrial Control Computers (ICC) has a new addition with the arrival of the ICC-8000.

Nematron's family of Industrial Control Computers (ICC) has a new addition with the arrival of the ICC-8000 Building on the earlier ICC-5000 and ICC-6000 series, the new addition comes with a number of features designed to keep Nematron at the forefront of ICC technology

One of these is 15in flatscreen technology which has an XGA display resolution of 1024x768 pixels and a backlight lifetime of 50,000 hours.

Another is the addition of 450MHz Pentium II processors to a list of options which already includes the 133MHz Pentium, 233MHz Pentium/MMX and 333MHz Celeron processors.

The ICC-8000 series also offers an optional front or rear-access CD-Rom drive.

"With the introduction of the ICC-8000, Nematron has an exciting new flagship for our ICC family," enthuses David Hicks, European Marketing Manager.

As with the other Nematron ICCs, the series 8000 enjoys a host of leading edge design features which have become the company's hallmark.

These include an optional resistive touch feature which can be activated with a gloved hand and which can withstand cuts and scratches to its plastic shield.

As well as being resistant to many common organic chemicals, Nematron's Skreenkleen utility ensures that touch screens can be cleaned without their applications having to be shut down.

Then there is a patented hinged bezel which is lightweight and has better access to mounting clips for easier installation.

The bezel itself comes as machined aluminium, although there is a stainless steel option.

As the chassis can be removed from the bezel without the need for tools or removing cables, maintenance is also simple.

"This product clearly demonstrates our commitment to meeting customer requirements and maintaining our position at the forefront of the industrial computer industry," concludes Hicks.
