Compact and rugged, Nematron's New e-Series range of Industrial Workstations has been designed to meet the needs of the emerging Windows NT Embedded (NT-e) market.
Selecting Microsoft's NT-e for your operating system offers provision to simplify the architecture through reduced complexity.
Using a 'Component Builder' tool unnecessary functionality can be removed from the Operating System (O/S) leaving only the elements required for the specific application.
In some cases the reduced footprint of NT-e can be as small as 10MB.
In medium sized PC Based Control application where the HMI and PLC functions are combined to run on the same unit systems software such as Nematron's Paragon (HMI) and OpenControl (PLC) components are able to reside with the O/S in less than 80 MB of Flash Memory.
This also includes the 'Hyperkernel' Real Time Extension for robust, determinism ideal for the Machine Builder OEM and offering the performance of a leading edge PC yet the bespoke nature of a proprietary system.
The e-Series are equipped with Intel Celeron Processors of speeds 300MHz, 366MHz and 433MHz, system memory expandable to 512MB, Flash Memory up to 350MB, and a full 68key alpha numeric keypad and Floppy Drive.
Resistive TouchScreen is available as an option as well as a 10GB Hard Drive, Ethernet 10/100 Base T, 2 USB connections, a PS/2 Mouse and keyboard are provided as standard along with 4 PCI expansion slots.
Models with display screens carry a NEMA 4/4x/12 rating, all models are compliant with CE, UL and FCC standards.
Whether you select the 10.4", 12.1" TFT or the Screenless model you benefit from the patented two-piece design.
Simple rectangular cutout for the front chassis mounting and hinged rear chassis for simple 'No Tool' removal.
The rear chassis is a fully functional computer that can be removed from the front chassis without disturbing the mounting for convenient maintenance or expansion.
Nematron offers the complete Configuration Service i.e reducing the NT-e to appropriate size and functionality, installing the application software and providing a tested and working unit ready to run.
The e-Series will be displayed with other models from Nematron's range of Industrial Workstations and OpenControl, Nematron's PC-Based Control Software, at FieldComms in December 2000.
