Having enjoyed considerable success on other continents, the newly acquired CE Mark for the Nematron OptiLogic range of industrial Ethernet I/O marks its debut in Europe.

Nematron Europe makes the announcement with the release of its new OL4228 Modbus-compatible eight-slot RTU.

OptiLogic offers a low cost, high performance option for both computer and PLC I/O systems.

The OL4228 supports the complete range of OptiLogic I/O modules, including digital inputs and outputs, high speed counter modules, RS232 input modules etc.

This compact design of OptiLogic gives rise to its suitability for a wide range of applications.

A small footprint ensures maximum use of available space, and 10/100Base-T Ethernet meets the need of a widely distributed or small I/O cluster network design.

Input/output cards typically support eight points per module and 32 points are planned for the near future.

All modules are equipped with removable terminal strips for ease of maintenance.

Along with its UDP/IP stable mates, the OL4228 also supports the OptiLogic operator panel range to provide a simple operator interface at the I/O site.

The OptiLogic panels offer pushbutton, pilot light and data entry and display functions.

The DIN rail mouldings on the back of each device provide a novel means to mount the RTU to the rear of the operator panel, saving panel space and complexity.
