Supporting up to eight different languages with Windows TrueType font and Unicode, the PowerView 8000 is suitable for system integrators working in the international markets.

Nematron Europe has released the PowerView 8000 Operator Interface Terminal.

PowerView 8000 hardware builds on the PowerView 500 platform and brings PC-like expansion to operator interface terminal applications.

It focuses on the growth in small-system expansion needs, with support for an array of USB devices from memory sticks to bar code readers and printers.

It has an IDE interface for hard disk drive, a Compact Flash socket, Wi-Fi and audio support.

The resistive touch screen is available in display sizes of 5.6, 8.0, 10.4 and 12.1in and provides crisp, high-resolution 64K colour images.

It offers 65Mbyte System Memory, 32Mbyte Flash memory, three USB ports, three serial ports and a 10/100 Base-T Ethernet port, an IDE interface, Compact Flash and VESA mount.

The ViewBuilder 8000 Development Environment offers a wide range of communication drivers, including Allen Bradley Ethernet/IP and Modbus TCP/IP.

Object management tools make ViewBuilder 8000 a quick and efficient environment in which to develop applications.

Traditional HMI functions such as pop-up windows, bar graphs, numerical, text and data entry displays and animation are combined with comprehensive alarm management, historical and real-time event, trend and recipe functions.

This provides performance and functionality typical of large-scale Scada systems.

A user-configurable operator log-in screen has a seven-level password protection system and individual object protection functions to bring a high level of system security.

Communication performance is greatly improved with Global Data Access, an enhanced data exchange mechanism that was introduced through peer-to-peer communication allowing PowerView 8000 Operator Stations to communicate with one another and have access to control devices attached to peers in the network.

Up to 16 different PLC device types can be connected simultaneously as well as offering OPC options.

Application testing on the development PC can be carried out during and at the end of the development project with the in-built on-line and off-line simulation.
