Alstom Power, one of the UK's leading engineering companies, has specified six Netzsch pumps for a power station modification programme in Khartoum.

Alstom Power, one of the UK's leading engineering companies, has specified six Netzsch pumps for a power station modification programme in Khartoum.

The modifications are to a fuel oil system at the power station and include the realignment of existing pipework, installation of new valves and filters and the replacement of eight old pumps.

The six SY boiler injection pumps supplied by Netzsch each weigh 1.5t, are over six metres long and are capable of pumping pressures of 27 bar at 65C.

They are being used to inject crude and heavy fuel oil into the boiler.

The motor and inverter fitted to each SY pump has a special 75kW rated voltage to suit the application and the environmental conditions.
