Netzsch Pumps has launched a comprehensive range of Tornado industrial rotary lobe pumps for industrial applications in the environmental and waste-water industries ensuring, says Managing Director Guy Glennon, that customers will receive unbiased advice on the most effective type of pump for their installation The Tornado range has been designed primarily for the treatment of municipal and industrial sewage, from conveying crude waste up to the various stages of the clarification process

The characteristics of the pump's rotor geometries guarantee pulse-free pumping of fluids, even with a high solids content.

The combination of compact design, high flow rates and low life cycle costs means that Tornado performance is available for a wide range of applications, even in cramped machine rooms where space is at a premium.

Pumps are available in four sizes covering flow rates up to 800m3/h and back pressures up to 12bar.

The range is based on three modular components: the pump housing, cartridge seal and timing gear.

The modular design, which features a patented shaft seal between the pump and drive, simplifies maintenance and the exchange of rotary lobes and mechanical seals.

It also reduces the service time and overall life cycle costs.

The cartridge seal can be easily cleaned and replaced from both the pump side and the drive side.

DIN assembly dimensions for mechanical seals allow the use of all standard and product specific mechanical seals.

Maintenance of seals, conveying elements and shafts can be carried out economically via the pump housing without dismantling the pipes.

Unlike coupled designs, the pump unit is flanged to an innovative and completely uncoupled timing gear that makes it impossible for fluid to penetrate whilst allowing any product leakage to be easily drained.

Contact parts are made from either cast iron or stainless steel to suit the application and four different elastomers are available for the conveying elements.
