Netzsch Pumps has supplied a number of their progressive cavity pumps to the Turner Grain Engineering company based in Ireland.

With capacities ranging from 0.3 to 3.8 m3/hr, these units are incorporated into the custom-built feed mills, both designed and manufactured by the Turner company for the production of animal feed products.

Many Netzsch pumps have now been running very reliably for up to three years with no significant problems.

Only minimum routine maintenance has been required.

The Netzsch Progressing Cavity Pumps were chosen for their ability to cope with products having viscosities between 100 and 2000 centipoise.

These included hot vegetable oils, palm oils and molasses, selectively added to sweeten or increase the nutritional value of feedstocks.

In addition, the low-shear features of these pumps were ideal for handling shear-sensitive products being incorporated into the feed mixes.

Since flow control was also a specific requirement, the pumps were supplied suitable for operation with inverters.

Various sizes of pumps have been supplied, all being the Nemor BY models.

These are compact block construction designs equipped with L type rotor/stator geometries.

They are ideally suited to wide ranging industrial applications including the environmental, food and chemical industries.

They can handle from low to highly viscous fluids, with or without entrained solids, including abrasive, aggressive and even toxic mediums.

Nemor Pumps can be supplied with capacities ranging from 0.1 l/hr up to 500m3/h, in a wide range of drive combinations with four optional and interchangeable rotor/stator combinations to provide the level of pumping performance required.

A pump with crevice-free wetted components and high dosing accuracy can also be supplied for hygienic applications.
