Ultra-low headroom on chain hoists

A range of monorail mounted chain hoists from J D Neuhaus minimise the 'dead space' between the underside of the monorail track and the load point of the carrying hook

A range of monorail mounted chain hoists have been introduced by J D Neuhaus Ltd that offer ultra-low headroom.

These products minimise the 'dead space' between the underside of the monorail track and the load point of the carrying hook.

This can be as low as 120mm for the one tonne unit and 210mm for the six tonne hoist.

This space saving feature ensures the maximum lift height within an existing installation, or can make the hoist operation a practical proposition where otherwise there was insufficient overall height available.

Another major benefit for these products is that they are air powered (with hydraulic drive also available), making them suitable for operation in hazardous areas.

Further anti-sparking features can also be incorporated including galvanised chain, copper coated chain hook, sprocket, bottom block and load sleeve, together with bronze wheels and drive gears.

Special paint finish, brass contact components and anti-static controls are also available for maximum safety where required for operation in the most onerous conditions.

A total of six hoists can be supplied with lifting capacities from 0.5 to 12 tonnes.

They operate from a six bar air supply with a consumption of between 1.4 and 2.9 litres/min respectively for full load lifting.

Air consumption is constant at 0.8 litres/min for travel, at a maximum speed of 15metres/min.

The standard lift height is three metres and all hoists are provided with pendant controllers.

They are suitable for lubrication-free operation and minimum maintenance for long trouble-free operation.

Top and bottom limit switches are provided with integrated motor braking.

A chain collection box to keep the working area clear of excess chain is also provided.
