Chain hoists improve efficiency

A JD Neuhaus product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team May 3, 2007

The Kito ER series of electric chain hoists is designed to improve handling efficiency in a wide range of general industrial, engineering and otherwise demanding work environments.

The Kito ER series of electric chain hoists available from J D Neuhaus combine quality and performance based upon the latest technological developments.

The hoists are designed to improve handling efficiency in a wide range of general industrial, engineering and otherwise demanding work environments.

Models featuring top-hook suspension can be supplied in 12 lift capacities ranging from 125kg up to a full 20 tonnes.

Trolley-mounted hoists for overhead beam suspension can also be supplied.

These include motorised trolleys (type ERM), geared trolleys for precise positioning (type ERSG) and plain trolleys suitable for manual applications up to five tonnes weight (type ERSP).

Both single and dual-lifting speeds are selectively available across the range, with five supplementary speed options from moderate to high also possible on some models.

Traversing speed options are available in addition on trolley mounted hoists up to five tonnes lift capacity.

All hoists benefit from a low headroom rating to provide maximum adaptability for constricted working conditions.

The single-piece die-cast aluminium bodies combine structural strength with dust and water-jet proofing to IP55.

All electrical components are housed under a hinged cover for easy access, with major body parts finished in a durable and highly visible yellow colour.

The 60% duty lift motors have external fans enabling extended duty ratings for both short-term and intermittent operation.

An asbestos-free motor brake provides accurate and reliable stopping, even in the event of total power loss, preventing load free-fall.

A friction clutch mechanism also provides both overloading and over-winding prevention.

Quiet operation is achieved, together with extended operating and performance life by full oil-bath submersion of the durable alloy-steel helical gear train.

A Kito chain guide ensures smooth lifting and lowering of the high-strength rust and wear-resistant ISO standard load chains, which are Nickel plated.

Plastic, steel or canvas chain containers can be supplied, with 360 degree rotating load hooks supplied as standard to prevent chain twisting.

Optional features that can be provided include a dual braking system combining mechanical brake with a friction clutch, together with both upper and lower limit switches.
