Roger Mills retires after 43 years at Newage

43 years continuous service at mechanical driveline equipment specialist, Newage Transmissions has come to an end with the retirement of Roger Mills, the company's Sales Manager for the past eight years.
Acknowledged as the longest serving member of the current workforce at the Aldermans Green based firm, Mr Mills joined PR Motors, as it was then known, in May 1957.
After 15 years in the accounts and wages department, he made the transition to sales in 1973 and two years later was appointed Contracts Manager, before taking up the position of Sales Manager in 1992.
According to Managing Director, Paul McLaughlin: "Roger played a leading role in the development of the company's world-wide distributor and service agent network.
"Many long-lasting friendships have grown out of his relationships with business partners, both in the UK and overseas.
He will undoubtedly be missed by everyone who has had dealings with him over the years." Having clocked up several hundred thousand miles during his career, Mr Mills has no intention of cutting back on his globe-trotting in the future - with plans already in hand to travel the world with his wife, Chris, over coming months.
Nor will he be short of things to do when he gets back, as he intends to sharpen up his angling skills and start playing golf in his new found spare time!.
