Newage Transmissions is launching a brand new range of off-highway vehicle axles, traction and transfer gearboxes at the BAUMA International Construction Industry Exhibition

Coventry-based mechanical power transmission specialist Newage Transmissions Ltd is launching a brand new range of off-highway vehicle axles, traction and transfer gearboxes at the BAUMA International Construction Industry Exhibition, to be held in Munich between 2nd- 8th April 2001.

The new 215, 415, 615 and 915 rigid axle series - for general off-highway applications including construction, materials handling and industrial vehicles - will form the centrepiece of the company's presentation on Stand 140 in Hall A4.

In addition, Newage's 500SL shovel loader axle will be exhibited for the first time at this important international show.

215 and 415 series axles are designed for 3 and 5 tonne vehicle types.

Both units feature double reduction gearing, with 14.8:1 or 18.04:1 drive ratios as standard.

They can also be supplied with optional hydrostatic drive transfer gearboxes, which provide six overall reduction ratios from: 22.64 to 38.43:1.

Newage 615 and 915 models are all-mechanical units for heavy duty off-highway vehicles up to 10 tonnes axle loading.

They feature a compact modular design to provide simple installation, good accessibility and optimum ground clearance.

All members of the range incorporate planetary gearing within their centre casings to permit the use of small diameter road wheels; and powerful self-adjusting oil-immersed brakes for low maintenance and extended service life.

An integral parking brake facility is also offered on each model.

Developed specifically for shovel loader applications, the new 500SL is a double reduction rigid drive axle with optional hydrostatic input.

The hydrostatic unit's ratio of 2.00:1 complements six standard mechanical axle ratios from 8.47 to 19.3:1 to ensure the 500SL's suitability for the widest range of applications.

Other equipment from Newage's new driveline solutions range to be featured at BAUMA 2001 will be its recently redeveloped 100 series axle, latest G2000H free-standing hydrostatic transfer gear unit for four-wheel drive off-highway vehicles, and the rugged and versatile 85MFR traction gearbox.

"Held every three years, BAUMA is the world's largest showcase of construction industry equipment.

It is therefore the ideal platform for us to launch our new range of driveline solutions," says Newage's Sales and Marketing Director, Miles Johnson.

"We already have a 30 year track record of supplying axles, gearboxes and ancillary equipment to leading off-highway vehicle manufacturers.

Participation at BAUMA signals a major drive to build on this success, by significantly increasing export sales throughout Europe and North America."
