Newage Transmissions has extended its relationship with Mermaid Marine by appointing the company as its principal distributor and service agent for PRM marine gearboxes in the South West of England

Mechanical driveline equipment specialist Newage Transmissions has extended its 30 year relationship with Dorset-based Mermaid Marine by appointing the company as its principal distributor and service agent for PRM marine gearboxes in the South West of England.

Under the agreement, all sales of PRM equipment - plus full spares and service support for the expanding pleasure and workboat market in the region - will be handled by Mermaid from its Wimborne headquarters or through its agents in Newlyn and Newton Abbott.

In parallel, PRM marine gearboxes will become the preferred option for use with Mermaid's own range of Ford-based marinised diesel engines.

"We have established an extremely close working relationship over the past three decades," says Newage's Marine Sales Manager, Ian Oliver.

"During this time, Mermaid has built an enviable reputation for quality and customer service, which complements the durability and performance of its engines and ancillary equipment." "These are also key attributes of our own product range," he adds.

"We are therefore delighted at the prospect of working even more closely with Mermaid, as I am sure it will pave the way to even greater success for our two companies in the future.".
