Off-highway driveline products are to be Highlighted by Newage Transmissions at a leading European industrial vehicle exhibition.
The test vehicles were equipped with Newage 215 series hydrostatic axles that had been specifically adapted to electric drive in order to meet the stringent safety regulations governing mine vehicles.
"Johnson Industries is one of the largest specialist industrial and mine vehicle manufacturers in the United States", says Newage's Off-Highway Equipment Sales Manager, Peter Townsend.
"We are delighted to have been selected for this new vehicle, as we believe it could open the door to further major business opportunities for us.
Following the successful trials of the pilot units, we have now received orders for production quantities".
"This export success underlines the suitability of our equipment for the widest range of off-highway applications", continues Townsend.
"Our 215 series units are used on construction industry vehicles world-wide and are offered with a variety of axle widths, reduction ratios and drive input options - as well as several alternative braking and mounting configurations as standard.
Their versatility is backed by a reputation for excellent reliability and in-service performance".
"These were undoubtedly important factors in winning the business", he adds.
"However, I believe the key issue was demonstrating our willingness to modify the standard design and produce prototype units on a short lead time to meet our customer's specific needs".
