Nexans has been chosen by International Telecom to supply fibre-optic submarine cables for the COGIM ring system that will connect La Gaspesie with les Iles-de-la Madeleine, in Canada.

Nexans has been chosen by International Telecom to supply fibre-optic submarine cables for the COGIM ring system that will connect La Gaspesie with les Iles-de-la Madeleine, in Canada.

Nexans' contract, signed by International Telecom with RICEIM, includes the supply and installation of transmission equipment and cables, providing an important link for provision of Internet services in the area.

Nexans will provide two cable segments plus spares for future maintenance of the system.

Total quantity exceeds 450km and segments will be supplied in continuous cable lengths of 217 and 221km, respectively.

The fibre optic submarine cables for the COGIM project will be manufactured at Nexans' plant in Rognan, north of the Arctic circle in Norway.
