Measuring system provides rapid QC
checks
Nikon Instruments' iNexiv VMA-2520 is ideal for rapid QC checks and demanding RandD work on mechanical, pressed metal, plastic moulded parts, as well as medical devices and electronic components.
A simple-to-use, bench-top video measuring system, designed specifically for 3D work pieces, has been launched by Nikon Instruments Priced to create a new entry point into video measurement, the iNexiv VMA-2520 requires minimal bench space, yet combines a 250 x 200mm stage with a 200mm Z-axis stroke

Touch probe adds new dimension to measurements
Adding 3D contact measurement to noncontact optical and laser measurement makes the Nikon iNexiv VMA-2520 system a truly compact multisensor machine.
Automated measurement system designed for accuracy
The iNexiv is designed to measure 3D workpieces, is touch probe ready, integrates the latest imaging processing software and incorporates a new 10x optical zoom system.
Together with a working distance of 73.5mm, these dimensions make it ideal for rapid QC checks and demanding RandD work on mechanical, pressed metal, plastic moulded parts, as well as medical devices and electronic components.
Meeting industry demand for superior resolution at high magnifications and wide viewing fields at low magnifications, the iNexiv VMA-2520 offers 10x zoom optics as standard.
Add in its white, 8-segment LED ring light source and advanced autofocusing, and the new video measuring system becomes capable of significantly improved throughput by ensuring stable measurement accuracies on all sample types.
Furthermore, since the illumination can be controlled from eight different directions, with an average incidence angle of 18 degrees, low contrast edges that are usually invisible under standard episcopic illumination can be easily observed and measured.
If required, the iNexiv VMA-2520 can also work in diascopic mode.
For higher-speed measurement, the iNexiv VMA2520 can be equipped with a highly accurate laser autofocus.
This confers faster focusing and Z-axis measurement regardless of work piece surface shape.
To simplify operation and ensure that users who are new to video measurement generate reproducible results, new AutoMeasure software teaching wizards take the user through all the necessary steps required to set up measuring routine, complete measuring processes and evaluate the results.
If demands change, the new iNexiv VMA-2520 can be enhanced by a number of plug-in software modules covering applications such as: CAD data, extended depth of field measurement, two-dimensional profiling, and gear evaluation.
Using aluminium alloy materials in the construction of the new video measuring system not only makes it exceptionally light, but also ensures that deviations caused by temperature fluctuations are kept to an absolute minimum. Request a free brochure from Nikon UK ...
