Touch probe adds new dimension to
measurements

Adding 3D contact measurement to noncontact optical and laser measurement makes the Nikon iNexiv VMA-2520 system a truly compact multisensor machine.

The flexibility of the Nikon iNexiv VMA-2520 video measuring system has been extended with the addition of a Renishaw touch probe Adding 3D contact measurement to noncontact optical and laser measurement makes this system a truly compact multisensor machine

Not only does the iNexiv VMA-2520 now enable users to perform two different measurement techniques on one machine, its generous 735mm working distance means it can accommodate a very wide range of samples.

Combining video and touch probe-based techniques in a system will significantly reduce the overall measuring time.

This means the iNexiv VMA-2520 is ideal for rapid QC checks and demanding R and D work on metal, plastic and rubber components as well as complex electronic and mechanical assemblies such as medical devices.

Paul Gough is Business Development Specialist for Metrology and Video Measuring Systems at Nikon UK.

Commenting on the touch probe, manufactured by Renshaw, he says: "The addition of the touch probe allows for greater diversity in the type of suitable applications, making it one of the most flexible single pieces of metrology equipment available".

Launched at the start of 2007, the iNexiv VMA-2520 is a simple-to-use benchtop noncontact video measuring system, designed specifically for 3D work pieces.

Priced to create a new entry point in video measurement, the system requires minimal bench space, yet combines a 250 x 200mm stage with a 200mm z-axis stroke. Request a free brochure from Nikon UK ...
