A new range of Smooth Line cylinders for hygiene critical applications specifically targets OEMs who are concerned with this critical factor in their machine designs.

In industries that are at risk from bacteria pollution such as food preparation and packaging the critical factor is hygiene Original equipment manufacturers commit considerable time and resource to designing machines that reflect the ultimate in hygiene standards

With this in mind Norgren has launched a new range of Smooth Line cylinders for hygiene critical applications specifically targeted at OEMs who are concerned with this critical factor in their machine designs.

The food industry as a whole require solutions that feature clean lines and the new actuator from Norgren has been developed with this in mind.

During the design phase the new Smooth Line cylinder was optimised to eliminate areas where bacteria could potentially accumulate.

Most food processing or hygiene critical applications will undergo a washdown process.

With traditional cylinder design liquids used within the process can remain present on the ridged case and within the cylinder itself after the washdown.

Smooth line, because of its clean line appearance, does not allow this to happen due to the elimination of the ridges on the cylinder body and the spherical surface on the profile of the cylinder and end covers.

What's more, the Smooth Line cylinder features a polyurethane wiper/seal, sealing between the end covers/barrel and all holes are covered with special stainless steel screws thus minimising the risk of liquid penetration into the cylinder itself.

With IP66/IP67 protection ratings the Smooth Line cylinders are suitable for use in a number of machines utilised in the food processing, packaging, beverage, dairy, filling and PET bottling industries.

Designed to ISO6431, VDMA24562 and NFE49-003-1 standards, the Smooth Line cylinder requires only one electrical connector and is available in double acting or magnetic piston variants.
