Briquette producer links loadcell amplifiers to PC

A Vishay Nobel product story

Coal Products, the Lincolnshire-based briquette producer, has standardised on the use of Nobel loadcell systems in the manufacture of its smokeless fuel at its Immingham Briquetting works.

KIM-1 200K/N loadcells and E-1-TAD amplifiers are used throughout the Coal Products systems, including the binding/blending systems.

Here, two products are bound together to create an additive for the main process of making the smokeless fuel briquettes.

The requirement of the installation is to relay information regarding tank weights and batching status to the Company's computerised system, which is situated in the control room.

Coal Products is increasingly using Nobel amplifier systems and equipment and made a decision that it needed to keep a running record of the parameters held in all the E-1-TAD units.

As a result of this, Nobel has developed a TAD Com system that allows Coal Products to plug any E-1-TAD unit into a laptop PC.

Information can now be downloaded from the Nobel E-1-TAD whilst it is running.

This means that parameters can be downloaded, stored, altered or held for future reference at any time.

For the future, it is envisaged that all comms will be routed to a central unit through the comms lead.
