Advanced process control instruments are available in four versions - DIN rail, panel, desktop and harsh-environment - providing easy installation in any type of environment.

Vishay Intertechnology announces the introduction of the Vishay Systems G4 family of advanced process control instruments.

Applications include process weighing and control, force measurement, web tension measurement and control, automation, force vector calculations, high dynamic force measurement, and high-speed batching/blending systems.

The G4 modular structure enables the user to tailor its performance according to the application, and is available in four versions - DIN rail, panel, desktop and harsh-environment - providing easy installation in any type of environment.

All units support high update rate (up to 800 updates per second), high sample rate (up to 20kHz), synchronised multiple measurement channels (up to eight), true vector calculation, integrated digital inputs and outputs, and modern user interface.

The G4 is compatible with a wide variety of industrial communication interfaces: Profibus, DeviceNet, Modbus TCP, Ethernet, USB, RS485 and RS232.

Software upgrades can be downloaded from the web or can be transferred to G4 units via a standard USB port connection.

Custom software designed to customer requirements is available on request.

All versions meet CE (industrial), UL and OIML requirements.

The G4-RM (DIN-rail mount) model has up to six weighing/force measurement channels per unit.

The G4-RM instruments accommodate up to three different, easily installed modules for advanced performance, additional functional channels, custom applications, or repair.

This provides customers with a highly flexible, upgradeable, single instrument system capable of weighing up to six independent vessels or scales.

For web tension applications, up to six zones (rolls) can be monitored simultaneously.

The unit is controlled via the local service and control panel.

The display is a 2 x 16-character LCD with backlighting, and the keyboard has four membrane keys.

The G4-PM (panel mount), G4-DT (desktop) and G4-HE (harsh-environment enclosure) models have up to eight weighing/force measurement channels per unit.

Features include graphic user interface (colour LCD with backlight), and data entry through a touch screen and/or functional keypad.

The G4-PM, G4-DT and G4-HE instruments accommodate up to seven different, easily installed modules for advanced performance, additional functional channels, custom applications, or repair.

This provides customers with a highly flexible, upgradeable, single instrument system capable of weighing up to eight independent vessels or scales.

A 5.7in colour touchscreen facilitates operation and simplifies parameter changes.

The screen displays up to four weighing/force channels simultaneously, allowing the user full control of multiple process vessels.

The screen provides good visibility of the process and easy navigation through parameter menus and settings.

The G4-PM and G4-DT have aluminium housings and plastic panels.

The G4-HE has a stainless steel housing and plastic panel.

All versions meet the environmental conditions of the food, pharmaceutical, and chemical industry.

The display is colour TFT LCD with backlighting, and the keyboard has 34 membrane keys.

Units can be configured for either 24V DC or 115/230V AC operation.

The units are rated IP65, and have CE (industrial) and OIML certifications.
