Vishay Nobel offers AST 3P transmitter

A Vishay Nobel product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Aug 7, 2009

Vishay Nobel has introduced the AST 3P: a DIN-rail-mounted compact high-performance transmitter designed for applications with strain-gauge-based transducers.

It converts the output into a stable signal suitable for PC- or PLC-based control systems.

It features a Nobel-patented digital A/D converter to provide accurate, stable and rapid response measurement information.

The AST 3P is suitable for use where a local display is needed for setup or displaying data.

Setup and calibration can be carried out either from the front panel or via a PC running Deltacom.

The full (optional) version of Deltacom allows the setup data to be stored in the host computer and downloaded in case of replacement of the AST 3P.

Features of the CE-compliant device include: an analogue output of +/-10VDC, 0-20mA or 4-20mA; an internal resolution of more than eight million counts; relay outputs; and low voltage.

Serial communications include RS485 and the Modbus RTU protocol.

Fieldbus communication is possible with the Gate 3 module.
